2023: Osinbajo Tells Buhari About His 2023 Presidential Ambition

President Muhammadu Buhari has heaped praises on his vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on the occasion of his 64th birthday celebration.

The President in his message described Osinbajo as “a reliable and dedicated deputy who is not only admirably competent, but also exudes confidence and passion in the performance of his job.”

Buhari’s birthday message to Osinbajo was contained in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

The President’s message to Vice President Osinbajo on the occasion of his 64th birthday slated for Monday, March 8, said: “I’m proud to have selected Osinbajo as my running mate and he has given a good account of himself since our journey began in 2015.”

“The Vice President is a cool-headed gentleman who puts the interest of Nigeria above other narrow considerations.”

Buhari while wishing him more prosperous years and God’s guidance added that “Vice President Osinbajo is an incredibly patient politician, who demonstrates remarkable intellectual and mental energy in the discharge of his duties.”

Meanwhile, the presidency has downplayed concerns about the health of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo after they received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Recall that Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday morning received their COVID-19 vaccines.

Both leaders were later presented with electronic cards containing the details of their vaccinations by the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib.

The brief ceremony was attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha; Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire; Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; and the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

In a statement on Saturday, presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, said President Buhari felt normal and went about doing his job.

While dismissing fears and misconceptions about the safety of the vaccine, Shehu said if there are side effects that follow, the federal government will be open about it.

“So far there is nothing of a side effect, serious or mild on the President. He is carrying on as normal.

“We hope this will help to send a strong message among the people, especially those grappling with hesitancy about the efficacy and safety of the vaccine”, Shehu added.
