PDP: Atiku Congratulates Ali Odefa, Other South-East Zonal Executives

Former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general election, Atiku Abubakar has congratulated the newly elected South-east PDP Zonal Chairman, Ali Odefa and all other executive members.

Naija News reports that the PDP zonal congress was conducted by the Electoral Committee led by Dr. Ibrahim Umar.

The electoral process was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The other elected Zonal Working Committee members, who were sworn in alongside the new National Vice Chairman, Chief Odefa, are: Mr. Ugwu James (Zonal Secretary); Hon. Emeka Okeke (Zonal Treasurer); Hon. Casmir Ugwu (Zonal Financial Secretary); Hon. Mike Ahumibe (Zonal Organising Secretary); Mr. Ukpai Ukairo (Zonal Legal Adviser); Mr. Augustine Okeke; (Zonal Publicity Secretary); Hon. Lazarus Ogbe (Zonal Auditor); Mrs. Mary Omile (Zonal Woman Leader) and Comrade Chidiebere Egwu (Zonal Youth Leader).

Atiku, in his congratulatory message sent to Naija News on Monday, said: “Ali Odefa, while steering the affairs of the PDP in the South-East zone as caretaker Chairman, demonstrated candour, courage and capacity to lead our party to a total take over of the zone.”

Atiku further expresses congratulatory messages and gratitude to governors, party stakeholders and members in the zone for the orderly conduct of credible zonal Congress that saw to the emergence of the new executives.

According to him, “I urge other zones of our party to be united and emulate what the South East has done.”

He maintianed that only unity, the supremacy of the party and respect for internal democracy can guarantee a successful future for the PDP.

The former Vice President says that Nigerians are eagerly waiting for the PDP to rescue the country and bring succour to the people, maintaining that the PDP cannot afford to disappoint Nigerians ahead of the 2023 polls.
