Four Bandits Killed, Rifles Recovered In Kaduna

No fewer than four bandits have been killed by security agents in an ambush in Chikun and Birnin Gwari local government areas of Kaduna State.

Security agents recovered three rifles and one axe from the bandits who were accused of terrorising communities in various parts of the state.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in the state, Samuel Aruwan, while confirming the development, said the operational feedback from troops of Operation Thunder Strike (OPTS), intelligence was received on bandits’ movement from Katika village towards Antenna in Chikun LGA.

Aruwan noted that the troops laid an ambush at Antenna village, and open fire on the bandits as they were approaching, killing four on the spot.

He further stated that more bandits were neutralized during aerial missions conducted around their locations in Chikun and Birnin Gwari LGAs.

The Commissioner added that the state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai commended the troops for the swift action that led to the successful elimination of the bandits.

In another development, a joint team of Ibarapa security operatives, including Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Vigilante, and other groups have arrested the notorious Fulani herdsmen terrorizing Oyo communities, Iskilu Wakili.

Wakili who is notorious for killing and kidnapping several people in Ibarapa, Oke Ogun, Oyo State was arrested after several attempts resulting in a gun battle.
