Controversy As Barry Jhay’s Record Label Boss Commit 'Suicide'

Controversy has surrounded the death of Nigerian record label boss, Babatunde Oyerinde Abiodun, also known as Kashy Godson.

Popular Nigerian singer, Barry Jhay is signed to his record label, Cash Nation.

The music executive who died on March 7, 2021, was said to have committed suicide after jumping from the balcony of his apartment due to his battle with depression.

Another report claimed that he was pushed off the balcony by someone after having a fight with a popular Nigerian singer and his artiste, Barry Jhay.

Before his death, he was involved in an altercation with his signee, Barry Jhay, who posted a video showing his bloodied lip. The singer stated that he had a fight with his boss and that led to the injury he sustained.

In the video, Barry Jhay said, “See the way this guy beat me. I no do anything; I dey record. Na him this guy beat me like this.”

Shortly after the news of his death broke, it was reported that Barry Jhay has been arrested in Ghana in connection to the death of his boss.

Furthermore, an eyewitness, while speaking during an Instagram Live session with mp3bullet, said Kashy fell from the 5th floor of a six-storey building and it wasn’t intentional.

He revealed that Kashy had a misunderstanding with the security officers and they went to his room.

“While trying to struggle with them, they called for back-up and he tried to pull a stunt, which made him fall,” the eyewitness recounted.
