Unknown gunmen have kidnapped Dapit Karen, a niece to President Muhammadu Buhari’s Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Talen.

It was gathered that Talen’s niece was abducted at Rantiya Lowcost in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Confirming the abduction to DailyTrust, a relative to the victim said the gunmen came around 5 am on Monday morning when residents were still sleeping.

The family relative who said the kidnappers didn’t go with the victim’s mother, added that the abductors have contacted the family.

He disclosed that the kidnappers had demanded N5million naira ransom.

Speaking on the incident, the spokesman of the state Police Command, Ubah Gabriel, denied knowledge of the abduction.

Meanwhile, gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly kidnapped nineteen people from Kutunku Village in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the community in the early hours of Monday, shooting sporadically to scare villagers.

Confirming the attack, a source stated that the gunmen beat up residents during the operation.

The source added that a total of 11 males and eight females were among those who were abducted by the gunmen.

According to the source, two of the abducted females were to be married off this weekend.
