1. Why We Removed Ambode As Lagos State Governor – Tinubu

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has blamed poor leadership abilities for the decision not to support Akinwumi Ambode for a second term as Lagos State Governor.

According to him, Ambode’s administration was leading Lagos State in the wrong direction and couldn’t be allowed to continue that way as he was heading in the wrong direction.

Tinubu further disclosed that the drift between Ambode’s leadership and the vision for Lagos State became noticeable between 2017-2018.

2. First Nigerian To Get COVID-19 Vaccine In The Country Emerges

A medical doctor, Cyprian Nyong working with the National Hospital, Abuja made history on Friday as the first person to get the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine within Nigeria.

It will be recalled that Nigeria received its first batch of AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccines on Tuesday with the government setting up modalities to vaccinate its citizens.

However, on Friday, Dr. Nyong became the first person to get the vaccine jab with the Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Faisal Shuaib, describing the moment as a “watershed”

3. How I Recovered From COVID-19 Within 72 Hours – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has disclosed that he once tested positive for coronavirus, and recovered from the dreaded virus within 72 hours.

Obasanjo made the disclosure on Friday at a colloquium put together to celebrate his 84th birthday at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.

The former President, who turned 84 on March 5, said he was a bit concerned and had to call his daughter, Dr. Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, that he did not have any symptoms, but he tested positive for COVID-19.

4. Buhari Decorates Service Chiefs With New Ranks, Issues Fresh Directives (Photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday decorated the nation’s new service chiefs with their new ranks.

The ceremony which was held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja follows the confirmation of the service chiefs by the National Assembly earlier in the week.

The President was assisted by his deputy, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and wives of the decorated military chiefs.

5. Fraud Allegations Against Magu Can’t Be Proven – EFCC

The counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the trial of former chairman of the Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina says the allegations of fraud against Ibrahim Magu cannot be proven.

The first defence witness in the case, Ngozika Ihuoma, had alleged that the former EFCC acting chairman misappropriated 222 properties worth N1.63 trillion recovered by the Maina-led PRTT.

Ihuoma had told the court on Thursday that the properties were handed over to the EFCC. He alleged that Magu had sold most of the properties to his friends and associates.

6. Why Herdsmen Are To Blame For Clashes With Farmers- Fayose

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has blamed Fulani herdsmen for the constant clashes between them and farmers across Nigeria.

Speaking in an interview with TheNation, Fayose accused herdsmen of encroaching on farmers’ land and destroying crops.

He urged herdsmen to embrace ranching so as not to use their “business to destroy the business of others.”

Fayose said: “If we say it is good to graze anyhow, then, in Ikoyi, high brow Bourdilion, Victoria Island and top streets in Lagos, is it right for dogs to stroll around? Is it right for goats to move around? Because civilisation has come.

“Unending open grazing is no longer feasible. Everybody must respect the rights of others. Where your right stops, the rights of others start.”

7. Buhari: Things Has Not Been Working Since You Put Your Friends In Power – Wike To Saraki (Video)

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday accused former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, of bringing President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress into power in 2015.

The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain noted that the former Governor Kwara State put the ruling party in power and things have not worked ever since.

Wike stated this at the commissioning of the Government House Clinic in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Saraki, PDP Reconciliatory Committee Chairman, was among the dignitaries that attended the event.

8. Give Hitler, Abubakar Shekau, Others Pardon Too – Fani-Kayode Slams Sheikh Gumi

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has again berated renowned Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi for asking the federal government to give amnesty to bandits.

Naija News reports that Gumi had on Thursday said if the government can pardon coup plotters under the military regime, then bandits should enjoy the same benefit under democracy.

Gumi added, “Even those that instigated civil war, the civil war that millions of people died, were pardoned. I see no reason why we cannot accept their (bandits) repentance and give them amnesty.”

Not happy by the latest comments from the clergyman who now advocates for bandits, Fani-Kayode took to his Twitter page on Friday to slam him.

9. Supreme Court Delivers Final Ruling On Rivers APC Crisis

The Supreme Court on Friday delivered the final ruling on the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.

Naija News reports that the State chapter of the APC has been embroiled in a factional crisis for the past six years.

The party has been divided into two factions loyal to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Magnus Abe.

10. Why Bandits Should Be Pardoned – Gumi

Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, has said if the government can pardon coup plotters under the military regime, then bandits should enjoy the same benefit under democracy.

Gumi while responding to the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna said there is need to pardon bandits for Nigeria to enjoy peace.

Gumi added, “Even those that instigated civil war, the civil war that millions of people died, were pardoned. I see no reason why we cannot accept their (bandits) repentance and give them amnesty.”

The cleric further stated that he did not betray Christian soldiers when he met with bandits.
