President Buhari To Decorate Confirmed Service Chiefs With New Ranks Today
President Muhammadu Buhari will today, Friday, 5th March 2021 decorate the freshly confirmed service chiefs with their new ranks.
This was confirmed in a statement by the personal assistant on new media to the president, Bashir Ahmad.
He wrote on his Twitter page: “Following their confirmation by the National Assembly, President
@MBuhari will later today, decorate the newly appointed Service Chiefs with their new ranks.”
Naija News understands the decoration will hold inside the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Those to be decorated include the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amoo; and the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Gambo.

It will be recalled that President Buhari had on January 26, appointed new service chiefs for the nation but they were only confirmed by the National Assembly on Tuesday, 2nd March after they were screened by the lawmakers.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force has announced the appointment of Air Commodore Eddy Gabkwet as the new Director, Public Relations and Information.
Naija News reports that Gabkwet replaces Air Vice Marshall Ibikunle Daramola, who is now the Chief of Policy and Plan.
Until his appointment, Gabkwet served at the Nigerian Air Force War College, Makurdi, Benue State.
