1939 Dies Of COVID-19 In Nigeria As NCDC Reports Fresh Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported four hundred and sixty-four new cases of COVID-19 disease in Nigeria

The health agency on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, confirmed that 16 deaths were recorded in Nigeria to make a total of 1939 deaths cases of the novel virus since its outbreak in the country.

Naija News understands that Nigerian has so far recorded a total of 156963 cases of the dreaded disease, out of which 135831 cases have been discharged across 36 states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory.

The 464 new cases are reported from 22 states as follows:

Lagos (131), Kaduna (69), Akwa Ibom (33), Imo (31), Katsina (30), Kano (26), Ondo (23), Yobe (20), FCT (18), Ogun (13), Rivers (12), Kebbi (11), Ekiti (9), Osun (6), Oyo (6), Borno (5), Gombe (5), Plateau (5), Edo (4), Abia (3), Delta (3) and Zamfara (1).

Meanwhile, the National Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has disclosed that more than 2.3 million Nigerians have already registered for COVID-19 vaccination in 24 hours.

The NPHCDA boss, Dr Faisal Shuaibu made the disclosure on Wednesday during a virtual interview, Naija News reports.
