JAMB Gives Important Update On When 2021 UTME Registration Will Start

BREAKING: JAMB Shifts 2023 UTME Mock Exam

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has urged members of the public and all stakeholders to disregard the trending news on the start of registration for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The board in a statement on Tuesday said the trending information on the commencement of registration for the 2021 UTME exercise is fake.

The JAMB statement added that members of the public will be duly notified when a date is picked.

The examination body wrote: “IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. This is to inform the general public that no date has been fixed for 2021 UTME registration. Kindly disregard any tweet from a fake account that stated otherwise. The general public will be duly informed when the date is fixed. Thank you.”

It will be recalled as previously reported by Naija News that JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin on Sunday disclosed that on the 2021/2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry Registration, the board would announce, in a week’s time, the commencement date for the sale of application documents for the 2021/2022 Academic Session.

Meanwhile, JAMB disclosed in Sunday’s statement that all 2020/21 admission exercises into tertiary institutions of learning in Nigeria must be concluded by June 15, 2021.

The board made this known in a statement in Abuja by its head of media and publicity, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

According to the statement, the directive is binding on all private and public universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions in the country.

It however added that public universities would conclude admissions a month (May 15) before private universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The JAMB spokesperson noted that the agreement was reached at a virtual meeting on Wednesday (February 24) between the board and heads of tertiary institutions in the country during which issues concerning the admissions process were discussed.
