How Bandits Killed A Student In My Presence - Kagara Student

The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello, has condemned the former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani over his suggestion that the state should renovate and rename Government Science College, Kagara, after Benjamin Habila.

Recall that Habila was killed during the abduction of students from GSC, Kagara in Niger state.

Suspected bandits had invaded the school and abducted 38 persons, including 24 students, six workers, and eight staff relatives.

The bandits, however, killed Habila during the incident.

Naija News had earlier reported that the abductees were subsequently freed on Saturday.

Sani in a post on Twitter on Sunday, an alumnus of the school, asked Bello to rebuild the school and rename it after Habila.

“Dear @abusbello and @GovNiger, rebuild Government Science College Kagara and rename the school after the young student who was killed by the bandits when they stormed the school,” Sani wrote.

Bello in his response to Shehu Sani’s statement said he should have put his skills as an adviser to use during his time in the national assembly.

“Thank you Distinguished @ShehuSani, one of our goals has always been to provide protection & conducive learning Enviroment for our School Children, although one would’ve thought your wise counsel was put to better use when you represented the people of Kaduna Central, eitherways,” Bello wrote.

Sani then responded to the governor, listing his achievements in Kaduna while in the upper legislative chamber.

“Within four years of my stewardship, I was able to build 7 primary health care centers in Kaduna Central and 9 Buildings we purchased used as schools & orphanages. Your attention and action is very much needed in Kagara; that school shouldn’t be your image,” the former lawmaker wrote.

A Twitter user, @slowabba, asked Sani what his contributions to the school are as an alumnus.

“You as an alumni of the school, have you ever bought even a pack of chalk for the school?? You will just be making noise,” @slowabba wrote.

The former lawmaker, however, responded saying he renovated the school’s library, a hostel and donated books and computer sets.

“Years ago, I renovated the school library and donated computers and  ooks; At a time I renovated one of the hostel and donated beds. I gave financial donations through the old boys club. All these can be verified from either the school or the old Boys Association,” he wrote.
