Imo Monarch Loses N85 Million As Gunmen Attack Palace

Suspected bandits have attacked Sabuwar Tunga village, Dankurmi district in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, abducting over 100 people, including 80 nursing mothers and children.

According to SaharaReporters, the attack occurred shortly after gunmen killed over 40 persons in the community.

It was gathered that the bandits stormed Sabuwar Tunga on motorbikes and unleashed terror on the defenceless residents.

A source stated that the gunmen carted away livestock in the well-planned and coordinated attack.

“One of those abducted is a nursing mother who gave birth less than 10 days ago. She was abducted with her baby but they (bandits) returned the baby to the community after some hours,” the source said.

“This was after over 40 people were killed by these gunmen; we can’t continue like this. We just buried some of our people killed, some of those abducted have family members among those killed.”

Meanwhile, gunmen suspected to be bandits on Sunday attacked three communities in Igabi and Kajuru local government areas of Kaduna State and killed seven people.

The state government, while reacting to the attacks, said the bandits invaded Kajinjir and Rago villages in Igabi where four people were killed and one person injured and that another attack claimed three lives in Katuru, Kajuru LGA.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, noted that two among those killed had been identified as Ibrahim Rabi’u and Abdulrahman Mohammad, while Kamal Murtala who sustained gunshot injuries was receiving treatment at a nearby facility.

Aruwan noted that one Ibrahim Iro and Muhammadu Rabiu were killed during an attack on Rago villiage, adding that those killed in Katura had been identified as Michael Shadari, Clement Aura Bili and Danlami Shaban.
