Nigeria Police Raise Alarm Over Fake Recruitment Site, Warns Members Of The Public

The Zamfara State Police Command, on Friday, disclosed that three-hundred and seventeen students were abducted from the Government Girls Science Secondary School Jangebe in Jangebe, Zamfara State.

Naija News had earlier reported that gunmen suspected to be bandits in the early hours of Friday abducted schoolgirls in Zamfara State.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Abutu Yaro, while reacting to the development said a joint search and rescue operation has been put together to rescue the 317 students.

CP Yaro said the Force Commander Operations Hadarin Daji, Major General Aminu Bande, Brigade Commander 1 Brigade, Nigeria Army Gusau, and other state government officials led a heavily armed Re-enforcement team to Jangebe to complement the ongoing rescue operation in the locations where the students were believed to have been taken to.

The Commissioner of Police while addressing the principal of the school and the parents appealed to everyone to remain calm as joint efforts of the police and other security agencies will surely lead to a successful rescue of the students.

In a related development, Prominent Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has revealed that another faction of bandits in Zamfara State is responsible for the abduction of some students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of the state.
