Fani-Kayode Reacts As Terrorists Torture Abuja-Kaduna Train Victims

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned the failed attempt by a joint team of soldiers, Department of State Services, and policemen to arrest popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho on Friday.

Igboho was on his way to see Afenifere chieftain, Pa Ayo Adebanjo in Lagos when the joint team, numbering about 40 ambushed him and wanted to arrest him on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

However, the attempt to arrest Igboho was resisted by his supporters as a clash between his supporters and the joint team which sought to arrest him ensued.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle on Friday, Fani-Kayode condemned the attempted arrest of Igboho, saying it would be very dangerous to do so.

He said: “I condemn this attempt to ambush and abduct him. It is not only reckless but also very dangerous.

“If the security agencies want to see him all they need to do is to invite him to their office. I am not aware of any crime that he has committed & I urge restraint on all sides.”

Let me also send a warning to the FG that Sunday Igboho is a hero to millions of Yorubas & either killing him or detaining him unlawfully would be the biggest mistake they could make. Building bridges, dialogue& peace is better than violence & war. A word is enough for the wise.”
