Kagara School Abduction: FG Has Abandoned Us, Bello Tells Orji Kalu

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, on Sunday debunked the report that 27 students and 15 workers of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State who were kidnapped by bandits on Wednesday had been released.

There were speculations earlier on Sunday that the students, staff of GSC, Kagara had been released and were on their way to the government.

It was reported that the abductees were around the Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna State on their way to Minna, the Niger State capital.

Governor Bello, while addressing parents at 11:40 pm on Sunday said the abducted students and workers are yet to be released.

“We still have the students of Kagara in the hands of the bandits and everything is being done to secure their release soonest,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, this online medium earlier reported that passengers of the Niger State Transport Mass Transit kidnapped about a week ago by bandits have been released by their abductors.

This development was confirmed in a Twitter statement on Sunday afternoon by the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello.

According to the tweet, all abducted passengers were released.
