1. Buhari’s CoS, DSS, IGP Adamu, Makinde, Others Attend Security Meeting [Photos]

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammed Adamu and the Director-General of State Service, Yussuf Mogaji Bichi are currently attending a security meeting.

Naija News reports that the security meeting is being held in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital city, today Saturday.

It was gathered that Gambari, the DSS DG and Police IG, Adamu, are attending the meeting virtually from Abuha.

2. Residents Flee As Soldiers Clash With Boko Haram In Borno

Hundreds of civilians fled their homes in a town in the central part of Borno State on Friday when gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents clashed with security forces.

Boko Haram reportedly stormed the ancient town of Dikwa around 6:05 pm, shooting sporadically but troops engaged them immediately in a gun battle that lasted for hours.

Speaking to DailyTrust, a witness said: “They came into Dikwa around 6:05 pm, shooting sporadically.”

3. Boko Haram: Army Raids ‘Critically Ill’ Abubakar Shekau’s Farm In Sambisa Forest [Video]

Operatives of the Nigerian Army have discovered a forest belonging to the leader of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgent group, Abubakar Shekau.

In a video obtained by The Punch, members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) were seen raiding the farm of its crops in the Sambisa forest.

Shots were fired in the air as the security operatives jubilated their little victory over the Boko Haram faction.

4. Bandits Attack Another Community In Niger State

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Saturday night attacked Gurmana in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the village shooting sporadically.

“They are currently shooting sporadically into the air and on target, which has resulted in many casualties.

“In the process of running away for safety, unspecified numbers of people have been drowned in River Kaduna,” a villager told SaharaReporters.

5. EFCC Chairman-Designate, Bawa Gets New Promotion Ahead Of Senate Screening

The newly appointed Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa has been promoted to level 14 ahead of his appearance before the Senate for his screening.

The new promotion puts him on the rank of Chief Detective Superintendent which is a major requirement for the appointment of an EFCC boss according to Section 2 of the EFCC Act.

The act states that a person who will be appointed as chairman of the commission must have at least 15 years of experience and must be the rank of an Assistant Commissioner of Police or its equivalent.

6. ‘Nigeria Is Doomed If S/East Ignites’: Fani-Kayode Tells FG What Must Be Done To Nnamdi Kanu

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has called on the Federal Government to negotiate with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Naija News reports that the former Minister stated this while reacting to a post from IPOB leader, Kanu.

The wanted IPOB leader had in a post on Twitter warned that the people of the south-east are ready to restore Biafra.

Reacting to the post on Saturday, Fani-Kayode asked the Muhammadu Buhari-led government to deproscribe IPOB.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “This is a chilling and sinister warning. I know Mazi Nnamdi Kanu well & he does not speak lightly or make empty threats. I advise  Buhari to take his words seriously.”

7. Biafra: IPOB Declares War On Nigeria After Military Raid Of Orlu, Others

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the Nigerian Air Force raid of Orlu and Orsu Local Government Areas of Imo State, stressing that it was the beginning of the second Nigeria/Biafra war.

Recall that the military had on Thursday launched land and air operations against operatives of Eastern Security Network (ESN) believed to be in the forests in Orlu and its environs.

In a statement on Saturday by its Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful, IPOB said that Nigeria had officially declared war against Biafra.

8. Gov Makinde Reveals Identity Of His ‘Godfather’

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Saturday said that he has no godfather, adding that God and the people are his backbones.

Naija News reports that the governor stated this while speaking in Ibadan, the state capital, on Saturday.

He said, “I have no godfather. God is the father. This is a government voted by the people of the state.

“They are the ones that voted us. We will not disappoint them.”

9. Why I Planted Cameras In Hotel Rooms – Hotelier Reveals

The owner of Pavilion Hotel and Suites in Aiyepe, Ogun State has revealed that he planted cameras in hotel rooms due to the rising insecurity in the country.

According to the Spokesman of the Ogun state Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the hotelier claimed that he didn’t know that it was an offence to spy on people or infringe er on their privacy.

Recall that in February, a man took to social media to accuse the hotelier of infringing on people’s privacy by planting cameras in rooms.

The police, however, invited him for questioning concerning the incident, and he failed to honour the invitation claiming that he is a resident of Lagos.

10. Kagara Abduction: Bandits Taking Their Time, We Can’t Rush Them- Niger Govt

The Niger State Government has stated that it cannot rush bandits to release the students and staff of Government Science College Kagara, Niger State.

In a chat with DailyTrust, Alhaji Ibrahim Matane, Secretary to the Niger State Government, said the bandits are taking their time.

This is despite President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that the students and staff should be rescued immediately.

Matane said the state government was doing everything to make sure all the victims are released unhurt.
