Nigerians woke up on Wednesday to the news that armed bandits have invaded another school and abducted several students and staff.

This time, it was the Government Science College Kagara located in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the students and teachers were abducted at about 2:00 am on Wednesday when the bandits stormed the school.

The bandits started shooting sporadically and in the process, a student was killed while some others sustained gunshots.

The State Governor, Abubakar Bello Sani later confirmed that 27 students, three staff, and 12 members of a family were kidnapped during the daring raid.

Bello has also officially briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the Kagara school abduction that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Governor met with the President at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Wednesday evening as confirmed by a presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad.

The president in his reaction has dispatched military troops and police to rescue students and staff of the Federal Government Science College in Kagara, Niger State who were abducted by gunmen.
He instructed them to make sure that the students and other hostages were rescued without delay.

This online news platform has now obtained photos of what Government Science College Kagara looks like.

As observed from the pictures, many of the buildings within the school compound are dilapidated and in a total state of disrepair.

The perimeter fence of the school is broken down in many areas and the abductors would have found it easy to gain entrance and exit the compound after their operation.

Below are images from the school itself.

Imo: ‘Your Turn Has Finally Come’ – Nnamdi Kanu Mocks Police, Army

Published

on

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has taken to social media to mock the Nigeria Police Force and Army over reprisal attack by citizens.

Kanu in a tweet on his Twitter handle on Friday morning, February 26 said the security agencies are now enjoying what they sowed during the Obigbo and Lekki Toll Gate incidents that caused the loss of lives a few months ago.

Naija News understands that the IPOB leader was reacting to the ongoing crisis in Imo State. It was reported earlier that some hoodlums threw inflammable objects at the Aboh Mbaise Divisional Police Headquarters in Imo State and burnt down the police facility.

The development ignited the environment, causing the policemen on guard, suspects, and natives to run into nearby bushes.

Confirming the report a source said, “This is very strange. Fleeing hoodlums have just razed Aboh Mbaise Divisional Police headquarters. They didn’t bother going into the compound. They just threw ignitable objects on the Divisional headquarters and drove off few minutes after it caught fire.

“All the policemen on duty including suspects who were being detained ran into the nearby bushes. Locals also fled their homes as the fire raged. We have not seen this one before.”

Affirming to the incident, a police spokesperson for the state command, Orlando Ikeokwu, said no policeman was lost to the incident.

Reacting to the development moments later, Kanu took to the micro-blogging platform and wrote: “Nigerian Police & Nigerian Army, do you think that those you killed their brothers and sisters in #Obigbo and #LekkiTollGate, will sit back and watch all of you enjoy your lives? Hell No!”

“Seems your turn has finally come, please enjoy it to the fullest!”

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu government of Lagos State has sealed off the Home Affairs Supermarket located at 21, Ijaye Road, Ogba.

Naija News understands that the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) on Thursday, February 25 announced on its official Twitter handle that it halted business operation at the store for displaying expired products for consumers to buy.

Conversing with reporters on the development, the General Manager of the agency, Afolabi Solebo Esq, said the supermarket was caught having expired products such as Kelloggs Krave (Chocolate Hazelnut) and Frozen foods, on their shelves, of which unsuspecting customers could visit for purchase.

Solebo said it is a wonder that despite several public campaigns and warnings by LASCOPA against such deadly and greedy acts, store managers still sell expired products to their customers, and offence which contravene the State government’s directives on the sale of unwholesome goods.

He said: “I, personally, discovered the expired items on the supermarket shelves on the 23rd of February, 2021, while on a routine check of supermarkets in the area. On discovering the expired products, I told the staff to remove the items from the shelves, which they did in my presence, only for the monitoring and enforcement team to go there the following day and discovered that the items have been returned to the promo shelf.”

Solebo reiterated that the agency had to seal off the Supermarket in the interest of the general consumers in the state, adding that LASCOPA would not fail to initiate litigation if retail shops and supermarkets do not stop displaying expired products for sale.

While charging consumers not to hesitate to report any supermarket or shops within the State where expired products are sold, Solebo enjoined residents to submit their complaints free of charge by visiting the office of LASCOPA at 2b, Soji Adepegba Close, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja or send correspondence to the Agency’s e-mail addresses: [email protected] and [email protected] for necessary action.

Ladoke Akintola University, LAUTECH, is back in the news due to a controversial development, with the sex tape of a ‘lecturer’ of the institution leaked on Twitter.

Recall that a student of the school was spotted in series of leaked sex footage a few weeks ago.

The institution while reacting to the development denied her being a student of the institution and condemned how the public had spoilt the name of the school.

“We don’t have anything to do with the lady you mentioned. There are many of them who did not even complete secondary school education but would go on social media to claim they are LAUTECH students,” the varsity had stated.

We don’t know her. LAUTECH is a school for serious-minded students and staff and not her type.”

However, on Thursday, another footage was spotted on Twitter with a lot of users claiming that the lecturer works for LAUTECH.

A middle-aged man in a video was filmed by a third party having his way with a lady whose face was shielded.

Meanwhile, the varsity is yet to react as of the time of this report.
