What Saraki, Anyim, Others Discussed With Ex-PDP Governors

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reconciliation and Strategy Committee led by former Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki has met with former governors elected under the umbrella party.

Members of the committee include one-time Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, ex-governor of Cross River State Liyel Imoke, former Gombe Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo; ex-Katsina Governor Ibrahim Shema, and a former lawmaker, Hon. Mulikat Akande.

Naija News reports that the committee met with the former governors behind closed-doors at the Legacy House Maitama Abuja on Wednesday.

Some of the ex-governors that attended the meeting include Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, Emeka Ihedioha of Imo state, among others.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle, Saraki said the former governors promised the members of the committee that moving forward they will be more active in the affairs of the party at all levels.

He added that they are key stakeholders of the party, adding that true reconciliation will not be completed without involving the former governors.

The former Senate President noted that the former governors have also shown a commitment to address the concerns of stakeholders across the party.

He stressed that the committee had also met with the PDP’s Senate Caucus, led by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

He wrote, “At today’s meeting with the former Governors that have been elected under the platform of the
@OfficialPDPNig, they promised the members of the #PDPReconciliation & Strategy Committee that moving forward they will be more active in the affairs of the party at all levels.”

Naija News had reported earlier that the committee met with former President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday to persuade him to stay back in the party
