NIS Sacks 8 Officers, Sanctions 18 Others Over Alleged Corruption

The Taraba State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Doris Theman has died, Naija News reports.

Theman’s death was confirmed in a statement on Tuesday by the Taraba Deputy Comptroller of the NIS, H. K. Usman.

The late Theman was formerly the Comptroller, ICT and worked with the Investigation Unit of the Lagos State Command.

The deceased resumed at the Taraba State Command as the Comptroller on March 10, 2020.

It was gathered that the late senior officer will be laid to rest on Friday at the Baptist Church, Garki Area II in Abuja.

Meanwhile, a serving judge in Edo State, Justice Morrison Ighodalo, has passed away on late Monday after a brief illness.

Justice Ighodalo was the number three in the hierarchy of 31 judges in the state, NAN reports.

It was gathered that the death of Justice Ighodalo stalled all cases in the courts, as other judges, magistrates and presidents adjourned.

Speaking on Ighodalo’s death, the Edo Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ogaga Emoghwanre, said the association was in a mourning mood.

“He was a renowned judge with an unflinching determination to always impact knowledge on one and all.

‘’We will greatly miss him. He was a jurist of no mean repute,” his statement read.
