The Ogun State chapter of the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Operation Amotekun has commenced fresh recruitments of officers to curb insecurity challenges in the state.

The development was confirmed in a statement made available to the media on Thursday evening by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on New Media, Emmanuel Ojo.

Naija News understands that governor Dapo had come under a series of social attacks over his refusal to inaugurate Amotekun corp in the state since it was passed into law by the state house of assembly in January 2020. However, following the reported killing and abduction of residents of Yewa by suspected Fulani herdsmen, the Dapo led government approved more recruitment of officers into the local security corps.

“The Ogun State Government welcomes applications from qualified individuals interested in joining the Ogun State Security Network (Amotekun Corps),” the recruitment notification reads.
