N37bn Survival Fund Released To Nigerians – FG Confirms

President Muhammadu Buhari led government has confirmed the release of N37billion for Nigerians in the Survival Fund.

Naija News understands that the development was revealed on Monday, February 8 by the president’s spokesman  Laolu Akande, during a meeting presided by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa.

Ministers and heads of agencies were said to have reported further progress in the implementation of the Economic Sustainability Plan of the Muhammadu Buhari administration during the meeting.

The N37billion Survival Fund released covers N50,000 Payroll Support for three months to over 300,000 beneficiaries, one-time grants of N30,000 to 100,000 artisans, and 100,000 business name registrations paid for by the federal government.

On his part, Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele reported disbursement of over N192billion for household/MSMEs grants to 426,000 beneficiaries across the country, with plans to do over N100billion more in that category named Targeted Credit Facility.

The CBN governor revealed that there are ongoing grants of concessionary loans from between N150,000 to N2.5million under the collateral-free Agric-Business/Small & Medium Enterprise Investment Scheme. Over N106billion was said to have been disbursed to no fewer than 27,000 beneficiaries.

In another news, Naija News reports that a leading Foods & Infrastructure conglomerates with its headquarters in Lagos, BUA Group has paid for one million doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines for Nigeria.
