IGP Adamu Decorates Senior Police Officers

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has decorated his Principal Staff Officer (PSO), Idowu Owohunwa, with the rank of Commissioner of Police at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Naija News reports that IGP Adamu also decorated the Force Education Officer, Rabi Umar.

Also decorated were ACP (Dr.) Adegbite Tunde Titus; ACP (Dr.) Chinonyerem Lawrence Welle and the Personal Assistant to the Force Public Relations Officer, DSP Aderoju Olagunju, amongst others.

The officers decorated were part of the newly promoted by the Police Service Commission, according to a tweet by the verified handle of the Nigeria Police @PoliceNG.

This online newspaper reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu by three months.

This development was disclosed on Thursday afternoon by the Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He noted that the extension of the IGP’s tenure by the president is to allow enough time to select a new police boss.

Adamu was expected to leave the office on Monday 1st February 2021, having completed his 35 years maximum stay in service. The police boss enlisted on February 2, 1986.
