The supporters of Yoruba activists, Sunday Adeyemo popularly Sunday Igboho, have set up a Gofundme account to raise the sum of £100,000 (N51.8m) for the activist to buy buses to carry out his mission against killer herdsmen in the South-West.

According to Punch, the fundraiser was identified as Maureen Badejo, a blogger and activist based in the United Kingdom, garnered £9, 450 (N4.8m) within 18 hours.

It was gathered that many Yoruba people have donated to the Gofundme page.

Sidikat Tope Olufowobi, who donated £200, wrote, “I donated because I am a Yoruba woman and want peace in my part of the country.”

Kunle Makinwa, who donated £50, wrote, “I am an Oodua tokan tokan (through and through). We will get (sic) by the grace of God Almighty.”

“I have donated my quota,” wrote Tolulope Akinmuyisitan, after donating £50.

The Yoruba activist had earlier requested for buses to help in a move his men around, this he said during a virtual town hall meeting on Wednesday.

“I need buses to transport people. The three vans we use are bought by me. We lost three buses that were hired on our way to Oyo.”

In a related development, Yoruba activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho has apologized to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi over his recent outburst against the first class traditional ruler.

Naija News recalls that Sunday Igboho had claimed the Ooni disappointed the Yoruba people when he visited President Muhammadu Buhari over the herdsmen crisis.
