Soun Commends Buhari Over New Polytechnic In Ogbomoso

President Muhammadu Buhari has been commended by the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, for approving the establishment of Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, Ogbomoso.

The monarch in a statement released on Wednesday also lauded Buhari for approving a take-off grant of N2 billion for the new institution.

Soun while reacting to the development charged the host community to give the Federal Government its full support in establishing the institution.

Oba Oyewumi also took out time to appreciate the state Governor, Seyi Makinde, the Minister of Youth Development and Sports, Dare Sunday and other stakeholders.

He said, “On behalf of the good people of Ogbomosoland, I convey my heartfelt and sincere appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the establishment of Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, Ogbomoso with a take-off grant of N2b.”

“Mr President as you know, Ogbomoso is one of the prominent and ancient towns in Nigeria and as such, your decision to site the higher institution in my domain is a good and remarkable development.”

“This new polytechnic will create employment opportunities, promote human capital development and boost economic activities in Ogbomoso and environs.

“Mr President, count on our support and prayers as you steer the affairs of the country.”

In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari through the Federal Executive Council has approved a memo from the Ministry of Education for the establishment of 20 new private universities across the country.

Naija News understands that the 20 new private universities are to be given provisional licenses to run for three years while the ministry monitors and evaluates their growth.
