Shehu Sani Fires Nnamdi Kanu’s ESN For Attacking Fulani Herdsmen

A former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central in the Senate, Shehu Sani, has condemned the attack on Fulani herdsmen and their cattle in Abia State by members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, had shared the invasion of ESN at the camp of herdsmen in Isiukwuato, Abia State.

The security operatives in a video shared by Kanu were seen burning houses and cows allegedly belonging to the Fulani herdsmen.

Kanu captioned the video shared on his Facebook page, “Video of men at work last night across all the towns and villages of the old Bende Division, especially Isiukwuato.”

“ESN has commenced the combing of parts of Isiukwuato forests last night and engagement with the enemy is ongoing and will continue until they no longer present a threat to our communities along that axis.”

Reacting in a post on Facebook on Monday, Shehu Sani called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to clampdown on any group or individual that takes laws into their hands.

He also urged federal government and Northern states to set up a ranching program that would resettle herdsmen in the North.

He wrote: “The unprovoked attacks on the Fulani cattle rearers and their cattle in Abia State is unreservedly a condemnable act.

“No group of individuals should be allowed to take the laws into their hands for the sake of peace, unity and stability of the country.

“The Federal Government and the Northern states must step up action and commence the grazing or ranching programs that will resettle the herdsmen and their cattle in the north.”
