COVID-19: Osun CJ Shuts Courtroom, Orders Staff To Work From Home

All Osun State staff of Judiciary have been asked to undergo compulsory COVID-19 test with immediate effect.

Naija News understands that the order was coming from the state Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo who ordered the shutting down of all courtrooms after five cases of the dreaded COVID-19 disease were reported in the state.

Ojo directed court staffs below level 12 to hence work from until the B117 strain of COVID-19 subsides.

Naija News understands that the directive was contained in a statement signed and released by the Chief Registrar, M. A Lasisi.

The statement reads: “Hence, all staff of the Judiciary below Level 12 are hereby directed to stay at, and work from home, to contain the spread of the pandemic.

“All staff affected should stop coming to work with effect from Monday, 1st February 2021.

“Osun State Government is gracious enough to be conducting the tests free of charge.”

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday evening, 31st January 2021, confirmed 685 new cases of Coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.
The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency.
