Coronavirus: NCDC Confirms 1,883 New COVID-19 Cases In Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday evening, 30th January 2021, confirmed 1,883 new cases of Coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.

The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 130,557 which includes 103,712 discharged cases and 1,578 deaths.

Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases followed by Abuja, the federal capital territory (FCT).

Meanwhile, a youth group in Kwara State, Kwara South Movement, on Saturday warned the Sarkin Fulani Oyo State, Saliu Abdulkadri, to be law-abiding during his stay in the state or he would get evicted.

Recall that Abdulkadri and his men left Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State to Kwara State following the seven-day eviction notice issued by Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Igboho called on criminal herdsmen in the local government area to vacate the community following cases of kidnapping, rape and other criminal activities.

The Yoruba activist accused the Fulani leader in Oyo State of harbouring the herders allegedly kidnapping and killing residents of the community.

The group in a statement released through its coordinator, Saheed Olayinka Odofin, and secretary, Adeyinka Adeoye, called on Abdulkadri to be law-abiding in his activities in the state.
