Shehu Sani Reacts As Lawmaker Kills Robber Who Attacked His House

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani has reacted to the news that a serving federal lawmaker, Abdullahi Balarabe Salame killed one of the armed robbers who attacked him.

According to Sani, the action of the legislator has saved the nation from a great loss and his family from mourning and condolence visits.

Sani on Saturday morning took to his Twitter page where he wrote: “The Lawmaker who killed the robber has saved his family from the consolation of “two minutes silence” and “a great loss to the nation” mantra.”

It will be recalled as earlier reported by Naija News that gunmen on Friday attacked the residence of the lawmaker representing Gwadabawa/Illela federal constituency, Abdullahi Balarabe Salame.

It was reported that the gunmen attacked his residence in the Bado area of Sokoto around 3 am.

The lawmaker while speaking on the development noted that he killed one of the assailants.

He said, “I was attacked in my house in Sokoto by armed robbers. But by Allah’s powers, I was able to shoot and kill one, and injured some”.

The former Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly also shared photos of the foiled attack.

The incident was confirmed by the Sokoto State Police Command through its spokesperson, ASP Muhammad Sadiq who noted that an investigation had commenced and assured that operatives were on the trail of the gang.

Meanwhile, the second batch of 419 Nigerians evacuated from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has rejected the plan to quarantine them in line with the COVID-19 guidelines.

The returnees who touched down at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport on Friday noon are seeing engaging officials of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria in a heated argument.

The returnees who include 126 men and 293 females, including children, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport onboard Saudi Arabia Airline SV-3413 at exactly 11:57 a.m.

The returnees were received at the airport by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).

The first batch of 348 stranded Nigerians in Saudi Arabia arrived in Abuja on Thursday and are believed to be undergoing 14-day quarantine.
