Jubilation In Military Barracks As President Buhari Sacks Buratai, Others (Video)

The removal of former service chiefs on Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari saw numerous military personnel rejoice over the decision.

Naija News had earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed new service chiefs for the nation after he sacked the previous ones.

This was confirmed on Tuesday in a tweet from presidential media aide, Femi Adesina in which he also quoted the president as appreciating the outgone service chiefs for their performance.

Recall that the former service chiefs were appointed in July 2015, barely two months after assuming office.

They were Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.

The replacements are Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A. Z. Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; Air-Vice Marshal I. O. Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

Military personnel in a video were seen dancing, while they fire shots in celebration of the removal of the former security heads.

There was similar jubilation at a Naval facility.
