Delta Assembly Passes Bill To Establish Security Outfit In Delta

The Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Tim Owhefere is dead, Naija News understands.

Owhefere who represents Isoko North constituency in the House, died at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Asaba at about 11 pm, Wednesday night.

The lawmaker was said to have been down for about three weeks with an undisclosed illness.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 1,861 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.

The new cases were reported in a post on the disease control agency’s Twitter handle on Wednesday night, January 27, 2021.

The newly reported cases bring the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 126,160 which includes 100,365 discharged cases and 1,544 deaths.

Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases followed by Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
