Embattled Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, has been confirmed the burning down of his house in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

Naija News reported earlier that there were speculations that Igboho’s apartment located at Soka area in Ibadan, was set on fire at the early hours of Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

There are unverified claims that the fire incident was a reprisal by the Fulani following the attack on the house of their Seriki in Igangan in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State.

Naija News reports that Sunday Igboho’s disciples stormed the home of Seriki Fulani, Salihu Abdukadir, to send him out of the land, and set his house, cars on fire. The development was angered by a series of attack and criminal activities by the Fulani herdsmen which includes kidnappings, killings, rape, invasion of farmlands and more.

However, confirming the Tuesday morning attack on the apartment in Ibadan, a Twitter handle believed to be Igboho’s shared photos of the fire incident with the caption: “My house at Soka Ibadan razed down by suspected arsonists.”

Naija News understands that the attack on Sunday Igboho’s house was coming a few hours after some state Governors led by the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi on Monday held a meeting with national leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) in Akure, Ondo State capital.

The focus of the meeting was to proffer workable solutions on curbing criminal activities by bandits, kidnappers, and others who hide in forests to unleash mayhem on innocent citizens, Naija News reports.
