President, 4 Brazilian Club Players Die In Terrible Plane Crash [Photos]

Death has been reported of Lucas Meira, the president of a Brazilian football club, Palmas while travelling on air with others for a match.

It was gathered that the team were heading to Goiania, about 500 miles away from their base to play against Vila Nova in the Brazilian cup game on Monday, January 25 when the horrible crash happened.

Four players namely; Lucas Praxedes, Guilherme Noe, Ranule, and Marcus Molinari, with the club president including the pilot, Wagner, all died in the crash that happened a few hours ago, Naija News learnt.

Reports had it that no one single person survived the aircraft crash which happened on Sunday evening, January 24, 2021. A statement from the club in reaction to the incident reads:

“The plane took off and crashed at the end of the runway at the Tocantinense Aviation Association. We regret to report there are no survivors.”

Records have it that the incident is the latest aircraft crash to happen to a Brazilian football club in a few years away.

The last was said to be in 2016 when about nineteen Chapecoense players died in a plane crash while heading to the Copa Sudamericana final in Colombia.
