Oyo: Two Feared Dead As Herdsmen, Sunday Igboho’s Supporters Clash

Two people are allegedly dead following the violence that started in Igangan in the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State on Friday when Sunday Adeyemo, Popularly Known as Sunday Igboho, reportedly stormed the Fulani settlement in the town to eject the Seriki Fulani, Salihu Abdukadir.

According to a report which is yet to be confirmed, some residents lost their lives while properties worth millions of naira were destroyed during the attack.

Residents of Igangan that spoke on the incident said at least one youth from Igboora was killed by Fulani fighters while two others sustained injuries from gunshots.

The Seriki Fulani who spoke with Punch noted that one Fulani woman was killed.

He said he had fled the town before Igboho returned on Friday.

Recall that Igboho had last week issued a seven-day quit notice to the Seriki and his associates.

A development which did not sit down well with the state Governor, Seyi Makinde.

The state Governor warned people fuelling ethic crisis in the state to desist from such act.
