Former presidential spokesperson, Dr. Doyin Okupe has gone spiritual over the recent open declaration by his son as a homosexual.

Okupe in his reaction said the situation is a spiritual challenge, adding that he had been aware for a while about his son’s sexual preference.

He noted that while he is opposed to homosexuality, he is looking beyond the physical and taking the entire situation as a spiritual challenge.

My attention has been drawn to a publication of my 27yr old son, Bolu okupe, in which he declared publicly that he is Gay.”

“I gave him that name MOBA OLUWA RIN, ( I WALKED WITH GOD) because he was born at the time I gave my life to Christ.”

“I have been aware of this his new orientation for a while now. He knows that as a Christian and a witness for Christ (an evangelist), I am vehemently opposed to homosexuality as it runs contrary to the avowed precepts of my Christian faith.

“For me, I look beyond the surface or the physical. Here I see a major spiritual challenge ahead but I know as my God liveth, this whole saga will end up in praise to the Almighty Jehovah who I serve day and night.

“For it is written: Behold, the hand of the Lord is not shortened that it cannot save, neither is His ear dead that he cannot hear. Isaiah 59 vs 1,” the former presidential media aide tweeted in reaction.

It will be recalled Naija News earlier reported that Bolu Okupe, son of Dr. Okupe, has revealed on social media that he is gay and proud.

In a post via his Instagram handle @boluokupe on Thursday, the video creator, YouTuber, LGBTQ activist said he “came out of the closet” for his own benefit.

Bolu shared a photo of himself in rainbow-colored shorts with a rainbow flag behind him.

He wrote: “Yes I’m gay AF”

Bolu graduated from the University of Manchester, UK, back in 2015.

Meanwhile, the Kano State Police Command has arrested a woman identified as Maryam Mohammed, who kidnapped her ex-boyfriend for refusing to marry her after years of courtship.

It was reported that Maryam who was also called Hajiya was arrested by police operatives at Jaba quarters, Ungogo Local Government Area of the state while negotiating a ransom with the family of one of her captives on Tuesday, January 12.

The suspect disclosed that she was introduced to the business by her uncle, Hamza after she parted ways with her ex-boyfriend.
