2023: Yahaya Bello Picks Date, Venue To Officially Declare Presidential Ambition

Members of the Kogi State House of Assembly have again backed Governor Yahaya Bello’s presidential ambition ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The lawmakers made their intention known again during their visit to the Niger State House of Assembly on Thursday.

The members, who were led by the Speaker of the Assembly, Matthew Kolawole, appealed to their colleagues to support Bello’s ambition.

Speaking, Kolawole said the lawmakers have resolved and endorsed Bello for the 2023 presidential election and have agreed to consult all the states’ houses of assembly in the country for their support.

Kolawole said: “We in the Kogi State Assembly have resolved and endorsed Governor Yahaya Bello for the 2023 presidential election and we have agreed to consult all the states houses of assembly in the country for their support and subsequent votes while we appeal to you all to support this crusade.”

Responding, the Speaker of the Niger House of Assembly, Abdullahi Bawa Wuse, described Yahaya Bello’s ambition as a worthy project.

Naija News had reported that a Northern group has backed the Kogi state governor to contest the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

The group under the aegis of North Central Coalition for Leadership ( NCCL) made this known on Monday in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Williams Charles.

According to Charles, the reason for supporting the governor to contest for the presidency is to correct the imbalance against the North Central region.

He alleged that the region has been sidelined in the sharing of the top political office and other major offices right from the first republic to the date.

The group’s coordinator opined that the North Central zone has been uniting and mediating for other regions, saying it is the time of the zone to be taken care of.

Charles, however, asked the governor to heed the clarion call and declare for the presidency in 2023.
