The Osun State Police Command, on Wednesday, confirmed that woman who was abducted between Ijesa and Erin Ijesa in Osun State on Sunday has been rescued by security operatives.
Recall that the state police command had earlier confirmed the abduction of two passengers between Omo Ijesa and Erin Ijesa along the Ilesha/Akure Expressway.
Opabola while speaking on the incident noted that the victims, a man and a woman were abducted while travelling from Erin Ijesa.
The man was, however, rescued on Monday, while the rescue mission for the woman did not yield result immediately as a combined team of members of Oodua Peoples Congress, vigilante operatives and police team combed forest around Omo hill.
Osun OPC Coordinator, Deji Aladesawe, while speaking on the development on Wednesday said the woman was rescued on Tuesday night.
He further stated that OPC men would not retreat from the area as another 18-passenger bus was found at the same spot where the rescued victims were abducted.
Aladesawe added that the whereabouts of the passengers of the bus could not be ascertained.
He feared the passengers in the bus might have been abducted as well.
Opalola while speaking on the rescue mission said, “This is to inform you that the kidnapped victims along Akure road have been rescued yesterday night during joint operations of NPF, hunters, Amotekun, Vigilante and JTF men while combing the forest in that area.”
Meanwhile, the District Head of Mayo in Adamawa State, Mustafa Ahmadu, has regained freedom, Naija News reports.
Recall that Ahmadu was kidnapped at about midnight on Monday in Mayo Farang, a few hours after he returned from a trip to Abuja.
