Abducted Anchor University Deputy VC Regains Freedom

Many days after his abduction by unidentified gunmen, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Anchor University Lagos, Prof. Johnson Fatokun has regained his freedom.

Naija News had reported that Fatokun was abducted in Kurmi Shinkafa village, Kokona Local Government Area on Monday while returning from the north to drop off his two children at their school.

The elite was said to have departed Lagos on Sunday with his two children who were schooling at the Federal University in Jos. He was, however, attacked by the unidentified gunmen in Nasarawa.

Reports reaching Naija News at this time, however, confirmed that the university VC has been released after a ransom was paid to the kidnappers.

The development was disclosed in a statement by the University’s Assistant Registrar, Strategy & Communications, Mr Okesola Sanusi.

Naija News understands that the victim is a professor of Computational Mathematics and Numerical Analysis.
