Breaking: NECO Releases 2023 SSCE Results (See How To Check Results)

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of candidates that sat for the 2020 internal Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE).

This was confirmed on Wednesday by the Registrar of the council, Professor Godswill Obioma at the NECO Headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

Compared to last year’s results, NECO announced a two percent increase in the number of candidates who made five credits and above in all subjects.

According to him, 894,101 candidates made five credits and above in English Language and Mathematics representing 73.89 percent of the total candidates that sat for the examination.

12 schools have also been derecognized for their involvement in mass cheating and malpractice.

The affected schools include four schools in Adamawa, two in Kaduna, two in Kastina, Two in Niger, one in Taraba, and one in Abuja (FCT).

24 supervisors were also blacklisted for various offences ranging from poor supervision, aiding and abetting, connivance with non-candidates to write answers on chalkboards.

To check the results, students are to login to the result checking site here and follow the steps below.

2. Enter your examination number

3. Click on the “Check my result” button.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government on Tuesday stated that schools across the country will resume on January 18, 2021, until a fresh directive by the Ministry of Education.

Naija News that this was made known by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Recall that the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, had said the Federal Government would review the date fixed for resumption of schools.

Speaking on a television programme, PTF National Coordinator, Dr. Sani Aliyu said the minister did not say the date has been changed.
