I Don't Have Any Relationship With Intels Anymore - Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has hailed the emergence of Professor George Obiozor as the new President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

This news platform reports that Obiozor defeated two other candidates to emerge as the leader of Ohanaeze at an election held in Owerri, Imo state capital, on Sunday.

Obiozor, Nigeria’s former ambassador to the United States, Israel, and Cyprus, will now lead the apex Igbo socio-cultural group in its quest for an Igbo presidency.

Atiku, in a statement on Monday, congratulated Obiozor on his election as the new president-general of the group. He also appreciated members of the group for electing a tried, tested and reliable figure.

The former PDP presidential candidate noted that with Obiozor’s election, Ndigbo has demonstrated their readiness to play the frontline role expected of them in Nigeria.

He said: “By electing such a tried, tested and reliable figure, Ndigbo has demonstrated their readiness to play the frontline role expected of them in Nigeria.”
