An angry mob in Oyo State on Monday, January 11 reportedly inflicted injury on an officer of the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the report reaching Naija News at this time, the aggrieved youths in Agugu, a community in Ibadan, the state capital city yesterday, attacked a team of a joint security task force.

Reports have it that the violent attack started after the youths suspected the security team comprising the police and men of the Amotekun Corps, had come to the area to arrest some youths who took part in the #EndSARS protest that led to the killings of some police personnel.

Naija News learnt that the mob left a police officer whose identity is yet to be confirmed in severe pain during the attack.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi, told newsmen that the affected officer is already receiving treatment at the hospital.

He added that security operatives were able to arrest some of the youths involved in the attack, while an investigation is ongoing on the incident.

Meanwhile, some armed men suspected to be Fulani herders have been arrested in Oyo State by men of the Operation Burst.

Naija News reports that the suspects were arrested with guns and other deadly weapons in Igangan area of the state in an operation consisting of Soldiers, men of the Operation Burst and other security agencies.
