17 Robbery Suspects Arrested In Kano – Police Spokesman Confirms

Kano State Police Command has disclosed that it recovered deadly weapons from some robbery suspects it arrested recently in the state.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna, Kano State Police Command spokesman who disclosed the development in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, January 12 said the suspects were nabbed at Sabon Gari, Sharada and Sauna areas of the state capital.

Haruna noted that 17 persons were arrested during the raid, adding that the suspects specialize in phone snatching and terrorizing people in the affected areas.

Naija News understands that the command also in another raid, arrested a 19-year-old swindler for defrauding two businessmen, Auwalu Abdulmalik and Buhari Yusuf of N330,000.

“A team of detectives trailed the suspect to Kano, Abuja and Lagos before he was arrested at Kankia in Katsina State,” the police PRO revealed.

He added: “On Oct. 3, 2020, at about 1700hrs, one Abdulsalam Isah of Gwagwarwa Quarters in Kano, reported that an unknown person stole his Samsung Galaxy T5 pro handset valued at N180,000.00.

“On Oct. 5, 2020, the suspect used the SIM card of the stolen phone and withdrew N330,000 from his account.

“A team of Operation Puff Adder arrested the suspects, and recovered the stolen phone from the suspect while an investigation is still ongoing.”
