The Kano State Government has disclosed how it rescued seven children who were abducted from the state and sold off in Anambra and Enugu states.

In an interview with BBC Hausa Service, on Monday, Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, said some government officials found the children in some orphanages in the Southeast states.

Garba noted that photos and videos of the children have been leaked and five parents have identified their children among the rescued ones.

He stressed that the minors will be reunited with their families very soon after proper investigation.

The commissioner, however, revealed that some parents were reported to have claimed that about 113 children are still missing.

Naija News reports that In 2019, the state police command rescued nine children who were reportedly kidnapped in Kano and sold off in Onitsha, Anambra state.

It was alleged that the children were said to have been forcefully converted to Christianity.
