EFCC 'Investigates' Education Minister, Adamu Over Contract Scam

President Muhammadu Buhari-led government on Monday disclosed that it would review the January 18 earlier date scheduled for the resumption of schools across Nigeria.

The Federal Government attributed its decision to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, stated this while answering questions during a press briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja.

The minister said, “On the January 18 resumption date, we are reviewing it. We are going to review it.”

“At the PTF meeting today, we considered it, and tomorrow, the ministry is going to take it up.”

Recall that the Federal Government a few days ago said it will impose a fresh nationwide lockdown if the rising cases of COVID-19 infections recorded lately continue.

Naija News reports that this was made known by the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, during a briefing in Abuja.

According to the PTF Coordinator, the rising coronavirus infections recorded of recent in the country may force the federal government to declare a new lockdown.
