Christian Chukwu arrives London for treatment

Former Super Eagles coach and ex-captain of the male National football team, Christian Chukwu, has rubbished rumours about his death.

The former coach lamented why those who published the story didn’t do proper investigation and verification before publishing news about his death.

The former soccer player and coach urged those who had earlier published stories about his death to retract their claims so he can rest.

“You people didn’t investigate the story. “I don’t know why you people are doing this to me.

“I was surprised when I saw the paper and I asked myself, how come it was not investigated before being published.

“It’s not that you don’t have my number that you can’t reach me.

“You people should retract the story so that people will stop disturbing me.

“Help me amend it so I can rest,” he said in a chat after rumours of his death went viral

He further appreciated those who reached out to him to confirm the true situation after rumours of his death was spread by some media outfits.

“I am telling them that I am alive and God is protecting me and I pray that those calling me and sending me messages, God will bless everyone,” he concluded.

Naija News recalls Chukwu recently celebrated his 70th birthday on 4th January 2021.

To celebrate the sportsman, President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, January 6 through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, described Chukwu as a multi-talented and disciplined.
