Npower Begins Training For N-Power Tech (N-Creative) Beneficiaries

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development has announced the training of N-Power Tech (N-Creative) beneficiaries in the northern zone will commence this January.

According to a statement on Thursday, 7th January by the Ministry, the training for northern zones will hold in Abuja.

N-Power Tech is a component of the N-Power Programme and is focused on equipping Nigerians with relevant skills and certification to become competent workers, innovators and entrepreneurs prepared for both the domestic and global digital job market.

Furthermore, Naija News reports that N-Creative trainees were preselected in 2019 after they had registered on the portal in the first batch of 2016. The training was conducted for the Southern Zone in 2019 in Benin City, Edo State.

According to the statement from the Ministry, “N-Power Creative training programme will upskill 1,500 young Nigerians on the global radar as exporters of world- class services and content in the animations sector.”

“This training component is targeted at developing competencies of the youth in domestic production which will be catalysed as well as the groundwork to make Nigeria compete in the outsourcing market for animation that is currently a mainstay for many Asian countries.”

“It will develop the skills and capacities along the skills set in the value chain of a digital animation studio in storytelling, illustration, voice acting, 2D and 3D animation and start the talent development effort for the growth of animation industry in Nigeria.”

1,500 trainees have been picked for the training for the northern zone just as was the case for the South.

Meanwhile, it will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the increase of the budget of social investment scheme, Npower, by N365 Billion.

Naija News reports that the Buhari-led government announced the increment in a post via his official Twitter handle @MBuhari last week Friday.

Buhari disclosed this while discussing deliberate actions taken to expand the nation’s fiscal budget for 2021.

“Yesterday, I assented to the 2021 Appropriation Act and the Finance Act 2020. The 2021 Budget provides for aggregate expenditures of 13.588 Trillion Naira, representing an increase of 505.61 Billion Naira over the initial Executive proposal,” the president said.

“The increase, however, includes the 365 billion Naira provision for up-scaling the @NSIP_NG, which I requested for after laying the Budget before the Legislature. The budget details, as passed by the National Assembly, and signed into law by me, will be provided by @FinMinNigeria.”
