EndSARS: Lagos Govt Pays For Forensic Examination Of Lekki Toll Gate

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has approved the payment of a huge sum of money for the forensic examination of Lekki Toll Gate.

Chairman of the Lagos State Judicial Panel on Restitution for victims of police brutality, Justice Doris Okuwobi, disclosed this on Tuesday.

She said the forensic analysis of the Lekki Toll Gate will clear a lot of issues in the incident of October 20, 2020, adding that the desire of the panel is to uncover the truth about what happened that night.

The judge said that the forensic experts would have commenced their work earlier but for the holidays which made it difficult for the experts to get access to relevant documents and exhibits which have previously been tendered before the panel.

Ruling on an application filed by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC) to have access to the toll gate, Justice Okuwobi said the company must wait till the outcome of the forensic examination is out.

The judge, thereafter, adjourned the panel sitting till January 29 for further consideration of the application.
