Gunmen Attack Customs Officers Near Navy Base In Abia

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed one person and kidnapped 20 others travelling to Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Naija News understands that the individual killed was a former education secretary of Nasarawa LGA, Malami Salihu.

It was gathered that the victims were abducted on Tuesday afternoon while travelling along Mungi sharp Conner Buga Gwari, Gadabuke area of Toto LGA in three vehicles.

The gunmen intercepted the travellers and took them into the bush, leaving the lifeless body of Salihu in the bush near the road.

Confirming the incident to The Nation, the secretary of Gadabuke emirate council, Abdullahi Baba said the gunmen in their numbers came out from bush and attacked the vehicles plying the road and match the passengers into the bush to an unknown destination.

“The former education secretary was also traveling alongside his friend in a private vehicle were also taken away with others but his dead body was later found in a nearby bush,” he said.

He added that the kidnappers have not made any contact with any of the relatives of the victims as of the time of filing in this report.
