Scores Killed As Troops Hit Boko Haram Terrorists In Fresh Airstrike In Borno State (Video)

Military authorities in Nigeria have confirmed the killing of several Boko Haram terrorists in a fresh airstrike by troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole.

The airstrike killed several Boko Haram elements in their hideout located at Kote Kura, Bulama Isamari in Borno State, Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major-General John Enenche confirmed to Naija News in a statement on Sunday, 3rd January, 2021.

Enenche explained that the operation leading to the killing of the insurgents was carried out on Saturday, January 2 based on credible intelligence.

He disclosed that apart from the terrorists that were killed, their camps where logistic items were kept also got destroyed in the airstrike.

Enenche explained in the statement that: “In continuation of the series of Air Interdiction missions being conducted to rid the North East of the Country of terrorist elements, the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has taken out more Boko Haram Terrorists’ (BHTs’) hideouts and eliminated several of their fighters at 2 locations – Kote Kura and Bulama Isamari – both in Borno State.”

“The air strikes were executed yesterday, 2 January 2021, employing appropriate force packages of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships based on credible intelligence reports indicating that the BHTs had recently established camps at the 2 settlements, where they store their logistics items as well as plan and launch attacks.”

“Overhead Kote Kura, a settlement in Bama area, the NAF attack aircraft engaged scores of terrorists observed in the target area, leading to the neutralization of several of them as well as the destruction of structures and logistics stores, some of which were seen engulfed in flames.”

“In the same vein, at Bulama Isamari, within the Timbuktu Triangle, the NAF aircraft took turns in engaging the target, scoring accurate hits which equally resulted in the neutralisation of several terrorists. ”

This development is coming only a few days after this online medium also reported that troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole have successfully killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists in a fresh attack in Borno State.

The operation carried out on 1st January, 2021 occurred in Mana Waji area of Borno State where the terrorists were setting up a new camp.
