Breaking: Kidnapped Catholic Bishop, Chikwe Released In Imo

The Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese, Most Rev. Dr Moses Chikwe, and some other kidnapped victims have been released.

The development was confirmed by the Spokesperson of the Imo State Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu.

Ikeokwu while speaking on the rescue mission noted that the carried out by men of the Imo State Police Command.

Naija News had earlier reported that the Catholic Bishop was abducted on Sunday by the gunmen, along the World Bank–Umuguma road in the evening.

The Gunmen who kidnapped the Bishop and his driver from their car later returned the vehicle to Assumpta Cathedral later that same day.

Before his appointment, he was the director of education of the Archdiocese, and collaborator of the Parish of St. Thomas More.

He was assigned as the Titular See of Flumenzer by Pope Francis and was ordained a priest by Archbishop Anthony Obinna in 1996.

Meanwhile, the founder of LoveWorld Incorporated also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, on Thursday warned people who criticise clerics to desist from the act.

Pastor Oyakhilome gave this warning in his New Year message to his congregation on Thursday.
