The Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha has accused Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma of failing to carry along political leaders in the state in his administration.

Okorocha, a former Governor of the state himself lamented that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is no longer breathing in Imo State due to the way Uzodinma is running the affairs of the party.

He said since Uzodinma emerged governor of the state, he had sidelined every other person in the party both at the state and regional level which has made them also boycott him.

Okorocha made his view known through his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo in an interview with Punch correspondent when he explained why he and other stakeholders didn’t attend the APC South-East zonal stakeholders meeting which held in the Imo State Government House in Owerri.

He said: “How many people did you see at the meeting? How many House of Reps members were there? Did you see Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and other leaders of the party there?

“It is almost one year since Hope Uzodinma became governor and he has not called any APC leadership meeting in Imo state. At the appropriate time, we will separate truth from falsehood. That meeting was a political jamboree.

“All those who brought APC to South-East were not there and you called it APC stakeholders meeting. We challenge them to bring the 2015 and 2019 booth results. Okorocha had produced Senators, Reps members and House of Assembly members for APC.

“Politics is a game of numbers and at the right time truth shall be unveiled. Hope Uzodinma inherited a sound APC in Imo state but sadly APC is no longer breathing in Imo state. The truth of the matter is that APC only exists in government house in Imo state.”

Meanwhile, Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, on Wednesday, disclosed why it supported the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party during the 2015 and 2019 general election.

The group noted that it supported the candidate of the PDP because its candidates promised that they would restructure Nigeria.

The spokesperson of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, stated this during an interview with Punch on Wednesday when asked if Afenifere had turned to an arm of the PDP.

He further stated that PDP is not the only party that the pan-Yoruba group had declared its support for.
