President Buhari Holds Closed-Door Meeting With Gov. Zulum

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, held a closed-door meeting with the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum.

The meeting held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

As at the time of filing this report, details of the meeting between the two leaders were yet to be made public but Naija News believes it is connected to security challenges in the state and the country at large and how to overcome such challenges.

Meanwhile, this online news medium earlier reported that troops of the Nigerian Army have inflicted further casualties on Boko Haram terrorists after the two parties clashed at Tunkushe village in the northeastern part of Borno state.

The troops reportedly ran into an ambush set up by the terrorists in Tunkushe which is about 20 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

It was gathered the terrorists appeared in military uniforms and were driving two Hilux vans mounted with Anti Air Craft guns when the military ran into them.

In the shoot-out that followed which lasted for over 30 minutes, troops of 212 Battalion of the Nigerian Army killed several of the terrorists, recovered weapons and ammunition but two soldiers were also wounded during the operation.

In another development, landmines planted by suspected members of Boko Haram insurgents have killed at least seven hunters and destroyed two utility vehicles in Borno State.

Vigilante sources revealed this to Daily Trust.

The incident happened at Kayamla village in Jere Local government Area, some 20 kilometers to Maiduguri, the state capital.

The funeral of the deceased hunters was held at the University of Maiduguri Teaching hospital before they were taken to Gwange Cemetery for burial.

A top vigilante member, Musa Bukar, said the hunters were buried on Wednesday morning.
